Roots Television Coming Soon!

QUESTION: There's a horse channel, a wine channel, a sailing channel, a poker channel, a guitar channel, and now even a shipwreck channel. Why isn't there a channel servicing the millions of people interested in genealogy and family history?

ANSWER: There is – launching in September 2006! Keep an eye on

Seems odd that for a TV station so close to launch there is zero information or news about the subject!

A google search reveals no information about "Roots Television" at all.

Before settling down with popcorn to watch the latest and greatest genealogical shows, I'd like to see some actual proof that this TV network exists beyond anything more than an idea and a hastily-assembled website.

Can not wait to see the broadcast. I am sure it will be a success.

To respond to the person who doubts that this will be a reality. Some of the best TV gets little attention or advertising. Let's give it a chance before spreading doubt.

COMCAST holds those of us in the Philadelphia area hostage. My guess is that, if it is offered at all, Roots TV will be dangled in front of us free for 30 days and then included in one of those super-premium packages for only an extra $60 a month along with 25 stupid stations no one would ever look at.

rootstelevision.com is registered through godaddy.com by domainsbyproxy.com. In other words, the registrant's identity is protected. Could be anything from pre-press-release to a ruse.
